The Armadillo, 3D Model
May 27th, 2007
Google Earth 3D model of the Clyde Auditorium a 3000 seat concert venue on the banks of the river Clyde, at the Scottish Exhibtion and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow. For obvious reasons, the structure is commonly known as the Armadillo.
The shape of the building’s shell bears a strong resemblance to the Sydney Opera House, but the architects claim the inspiration behind the design comes from upturned ships’ hulls - Clydebank was once home to the world’s most productive shipyards.
Model created with SketchUp.
