Just before I switched the format of this website over to a blog, I mentioned that with the newly released Google Earth v4.1, the background starfield rotates during time animation playback.

To see this cool effect clearly, here’s a very simple KML file which just creates a one day long timeline and nothing else. Obviously Google Earth v4.1 is required.

• Zoom out as far as possible
• Then hit the Time Control Play button
